As a licensed therapist in Sarasota/Bradenton, FL, I specialize in:
Rapid Resolution Therapy™, developed by Dr. Jon Connelly, is absolutely the quickest, most efficient, life-changing approach to psychological healing.
Psychotherapy is the general term referring to the treatment of emotional and behavioral disorders. Many forms of therapy include communication and insight-oriented approaches. The aim of these therapies is to gain a greater awareness of oneself in order to resolve internal conflicts. This approach to therapy often takes anywhere between a few months to a few years of the clients putting effort and work into changing their thoughts, feelings and actions. This has been helpful for some. People typically learn to manage their disturbances and they learn techniques and tools to use when the feelings come up.
Rapid Resolution Therapy™ is a unique approach to therapy. The client is free to just listen and try on a different way of looking at things. Unlike with traditional therapy, it is NOT the client’s responsibility to change or to work on anything. The therapist is the one who does the work. Rapid Resolution therapists are trained to work with all parts of the mind, targeting the deeper part of the mind, where the troublesome automatic responses lie. In doing so, we provide effective therapy for our clients, eliminating the emotional pain at the root of the suffering. This therapy is effortless and painless for the clients, who leave the sessions with a lightness and clarity perhaps never before experienced.

Trauma
A trauma can be what people normally think of: sexual abuse, victims of violent crimes, or other terrifying events. And those are definitely traumatic events that I have lots of experience with. But sometimes a trauma is more subtle. Sometimes it’s being bullied, or being shunned by loved ones, or being put down by peers or family members. After a while of hearing these hurtful words, you begin to believe them. Then you start thinking and feeling like you really are those bad things you heard. You get stuck in this way of seeing yourself.
Rapid Resolution Therapy is especially designed to clear away the disturbing thoughts and feelings that are associated with traumatic events. The troubling emotions are replaced with freedom, peace, and clarity. All the energy which had been driving the emotional pain is freed up and redirected toward inner strength, peace, comfort and clarity. The therapy is pain-free, quick and lasting.
Anxiety
Most people feel worried or jittery some of the time. This is normal, and it’s usually a response to something that you want to control, but can’t. That feeling usually passes in a day or so. But when you feel anxious or panicky all the time, there is often a deeper cause of that anxiety. Sometimes previous events or experiences can cause the anxieties, so new events that are similar to those old ones are seen as “triggers.” You may even feel panic when you are faced with these triggers.
Whatever the cause of the anxiety, it can be eliminated. Clients often experience complete freedom from anxiety in just one session.
Grief
The death of a loved one is often experienced with tremendous sadness, loneliness and isolation. You might be left wondering why your loved one was taken from you, or you may feel guilty for not having “done something sooner” to have prevented the death. In cases of a death after a long illness, you may be left missing the closeness you had with your loved one.
Regardless of the circumstances surrounding the death, seeking therapy is often very helpful. Rapid Resolution Therapy shines a light on the ongoing connection that has always been with your loved one. Death is not an ending, but rather a transformation. Becoming aware of that transformation, and aware of the connection that always is, is a most revealing, exciting and peaceful experience.
Anger
Anger is often a response to something that doesn’t seem right or fair. When you feel you have been treated wrongly, or when your expectations/understandings are not met. Like anxiety, anger is a normal response to many events. When anger becomes all-consuming, though, and you find yourself getting angry easily, or erupting into rage frequently, then therapy can be really helpful. People don’t choose to be angry; it just happens. So it can be kind of hard to “un-choose” it.
RRT can eliminate anger by working with the part of the mind that it’s coming from. The result is not happiness or exultation, but rather peace and contentment. You have new lenses to look through that make anger no longer an issue.

For those clients who are able to come to my office in Lakewood Ranch (Bradenton), Rapid Resolution Therapy can be very useful in immigration cases, whether you are looking for legal status, or whether you are the U.S. citizen relative. Therapy is not necessary for the cases themselves, but it is extremely beneficial for the clients’ peace of mind. These are some examples of how therapy can help:
Asylum:
When people are applying for asylum in the United States, they are escaping a terrifying situation in their home country which is in some way condoned by the country’s government. When I meet with asylum-seekers, I not only help with the immigration case itself, but I heal the psychological harm that was done as a result of the events that were experienced.
U-visa/VAWA:
If you are applying for a U-visa or VAWA, then you have been victim of a violent crime or of domestic violence. When the emotional pain of that crime or that violence continues even after the event(s) have passed, it can make you think, feel and act in ways that are less than optimal. In these cases, therapy can quickly and effectively restore the clarity and strength that had been diminished by the abuse or violence.
Hardship:
Many who come to me for a hardship evaluation have had difficult childhoods or difficult pasts. There has been instability or confusion, or the home life was less than ideal. The peace and comfort found in a wonderful spouse can heal so much of the damage that was done in earlier years, but oftentimes there is still some lingering pain. Therapy can be effective in getting rid of the problematic thoughts or emotions related to that time of life.
